Building Stronger Communities Through Prevention, Education and Early Intervention

How The Strength Project CIC Is Empowering Children, Young People and Women Across Wandsworth

Creating safer, healthier communities doesn’t begin with crisis response — it begins long before that, through education, early intervention and honest conversations about relationships, boundaries and wellbeing. At The Strength Project CIC, this preventative approach sits at the heart of everything we do.

Over the past year, our organisation has worked closely with schools, community groups and Wandsworth Council to deliver workshops that help children, young people and women build confidence, resilience and the skills to navigate relationships safely and positively.

Our Work With Children and Young People

Reaching Over 200 Participants Through School and Community Programmes

Our programmes have supported more than 200 children and young people aged 8–25 across Wandsworth, delivered through both school-based sessions and wider community workshops.

This includes:

  • Workshops on healthy relationships, domestic abuse awareness, and conflict resolution delivered to over 180 children and young people across two schools
  • 1‑to‑1 mentoring for 30 young people who needed personalised guidance and support
  • Additional community sessions that brought total participation to approximately 200 attendees

The feedback from these sessions has been described as very positive, reflecting the impact of early intervention and open dialogue around topics that are often difficult for young people to navigate

What Our Programmes Teach

Our workshops are designed to equip participants with practical tools that strengthen emotional wellbeing, communication and personal safety. Programme themes include:

  • Healthy Relationships
  • Domestic Abuse Awareness
  • Conflict Resolution
  • Emotional Resilience
  • Personal Safety and Boundaries
  • Communication and Respect

Through facilitated discussions and interactive activities, children and young people learn how to:

  • Recognise unhealthy or controlling behaviours
  • Understand boundaries and consent
  • Communicate more effectively
  • Build resilience and manage conflict
  • Seek help safely when needed

These skills are essential not only for preventing harm, but for building confidence and fostering healthier relationships throughout life.

Expanding Our Work: Women’s Workshops and Drop‑In Sessions

In addition to youth programmes, The Strength Project CIC is now developing women’s workshops and drop‑in sessions focused on personal transformation, confidence building and emotional wellbeing. These sessions aim to support women in navigating relationships, strengthening self-worth and accessing community support networks.

Women interested in attending can get in touch via email or phone to receive more information or register their interest.

Our Mission

At its core, The Strength Project CIC exists to tackle the root causes of violence, unhealthy relationships and conflict before they escalate into long-term social challenges. We believe that prevention, education and early intervention are the most powerful tools for creating safer communities and empowering individuals to thrive.

Through partnerships with local authorities, schools and community organisations, we continue to expand our reach and deepen our impact, one workshop, one conversation, and one empowered participant at a time.
